Calculator inputs
Calculations run in your browser. This application does not send your watts, usage hours, state selection, electricity rate, or calculator results to us. It does not save these inputs in cookies or browser storage. Reloading a page restores example inputs.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” It measures page visits, referral sources, approximate location, device/browser information, engagement, and whether a calculator is used. Google processes technical request information to provide these reports. We do not send calculator input values, results, account numbers, or a user ID. We remove query strings and fragments from the page URL we send and retain only the origin of the referring URL.
We disable automatic form and site-search measurement, Google signals, and advertising personalization. No advertising network is active. Analytics is not a record of every visitor: consent choices and blocking software affect coverage. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
Your choice and browser storage
“No thanks” keeps the Google tag off. The footer’s “Privacy choices” button lets you change your decision. We store only your choice and its timestamp in local browser storage for up to 180 days; if storage is unavailable, you may be asked again. After permission, Google sets first-party analytics cookies configured with a 180-day lifetime. Withdrawal disables collection, removes this site’s accessible Google Analytics cookies, and reloads the page. It does not retroactively remove data already processed by Google. Hosting and access
HomeWattCheck uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) for website hosting and delivery. Delivering and protecting the site involves processing technical request information such as IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, and request times. Infrastructure providers may retain operational or security logs under their own policies. We have not configured a separate visitor-profile database or application access-log collection.
This public website does not require an account or a ChatGPT session. See the AWS Privacy Notice for information about that provider.

We use those messages to handle the request. Do not send account numbers, unredacted utility bills, or other unnecessary personal information. No contact form or bill upload is enabled.
